Black Friday as a reseller:
how to have stock ready in time
The busiest selling week of the year isn't won in November. It's bought in October.
Order in October, sell in November.
Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November. Between ordering, photographing and listing, you realistically need two to three weeks. If you're still sourcing stock during Black Friday week, you'll be selling it in December — once the peak has already passed.
Second-hand is no longer the exception during Black Friday week
Vinted did €10.8 billion in sales across the platform last year, up 47% on the year before. In France — Europe's largest Vinted market — the platform topped fashion sales during Black Friday week. Second-hand isn't an alternative to the sales season any more; it's a full part of it.
For you as a reseller that means one thing: this quarter the demand comes to you. People who never normally browse Vinted are scrolling through it in November. Jackets, sweaters and branded polos are the easiest things you can have in stock during those weeks.
Demand is almost never the problem. The problem is that most resellers only start thinking about stock in the second week of November — and then still have to order, wait, photograph and list. By the time their first listing goes live, the peak is behind them.
Work backwards from 27 November. Order now and you'll be fully listed by early November, selling through the whole of Black Week instead of only on the last day of it.From now to Black Friday, week by week
Seven weeks, laid out concretely. You're on step one.
Order your stock
The only step with a deadline you can't move. Buy now what you want to sell in November: jackets, windbreakers, sweaters and hoodies, plus the polos and tees that run all year. What you order now arrives next week — leaving you plenty of time.
Photograph it in one session
Shoot your whole stock in one go, not piece by piece. Same background, same light, same angles — a full box takes an hour instead of a week. Unphotographed stock isn't stock.
List and build visibility
Put everything online at full price. You now have two weeks before the rush starts, which is exactly what you need: listings that have been up for a few weeks carry visibility and saved favourites by the time buyers arrive.
Black Week: now you move
On the big platforms the week before Black Friday is often busier than the day itself. This is where your discounts go live, where you send offers to everyone who favourited your items, and where you keep prices sharp without giving them away.
Black Friday
Your highest traffic day of the year. Everything is already online, so today's job is reacting: answer offers fast, ship fast, restock fast wherever something sells out. Cyber Monday follows on 30 November.
Catch the Christmas run
Plenty of resellers are empty after Black Friday and stop there. That's exactly when everyone is buying gifts. Hold part of your stock back in November for the first three weeks of December — your quietest weeks, but your best margin of the quarter.
Three mistakes that cost you Q4
All three avoidable, and all three structural.
Ordering too late
Ordering during Black Friday week means selling in December. Your sourcing date decides which week your revenue lands in — not your ad spend, not your pricing.
Discounting everything at once
A storewide discount on one day strips margin from items that would have sold at full price anyway. Discount selectively: slow movers and duplicate sizes first, your strongest pieces last.
Letting your shop run empty
An empty shop in the first week of December is the most expensive mistake of the quarter. Plan one restock order now for mid-November, so you don't go into December with nothing.
The categories that carry Q4
The first two are your seasonal peaks with the highest price per piece. The third runs all year and is your stable base.
Jackets & Windbreakers
The highest-selling category of the year and the clearest November peak. Winter jackets from €145 per box of 3, windbreakers from €89.95.
View jacket boxesSweaters & Hoodies
The most searched category of the cold season and the easiest to move in volume. From €139 for 5 pieces up to volume boxes of 20 — plus separate Columbia fleece.

Polos have no dead season and are a fixed gift category in December. Brand mix from €65 or Ralph Lauren from €79 — your base alongside the seasonal buy.

A mixed box with a cross-section of what's moving. The fastest way to have something listed before November — and a good way to see which categories land with your audience before you buy in volume.

Questions about Black Friday and Q4
What resellers ask us most this month.
When is Black Friday 2026?+
Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November, with Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November. In practice the rush starts the week before, from around 23 November — the period usually called Black Week.
When do I need to have ordered my stock?+
To catch the full Black Week, order in October. Work it backwards: delivery, photographing and listing realistically take two to three weeks before everything is online. Order in early November and you'll still make Black Friday itself — but not the run-up to it.
Should I discount my whole shop on Black Friday?+
No. A storewide discount costs you margin on items that would have sold without one. Discount selectively: start with slow movers and sizes you hold twice, and keep your strongest pieces at full price. Those sell during these weeks anyway.
What sells best in November and December?+
Jackets and windbreakers carry the highest price per piece, sweaters and hoodies the biggest volume. Polos and branded tees run all year and get an extra lift in December as gifts. A mix of those three covers the quarter best — putting everything into one category leaves you dependent on the weather.
