A good supplier is predictable, not a gamble.
The best Vinted supplier isn't the cheapest one — it's the one that tells you upfront exactly what you're getting: which grade, which brands, what condition, what delivery time. If you can't verify those four things before you pay, you're not buying stock. You're buying risk.
Your supplier is your biggest cost — and your biggest risk
As a reseller on Vinted, Marktplaats or Depop, everything comes down to one thing: what you pay per item versus what you get back per item. Your photos, your titles, your pricing strategy all help. But if your stock is wrong, no amount of good listing work fixes it.
That's exactly where most beginners go wrong. They compare suppliers on price per piece, order from the cheapest one, and only then discover the real picture: stains, wrong sizes, brands nobody searches for, or a box that takes three weeks to arrive while their shop sits empty.
A good supplier might cost slightly more per item. But you sell faster, get better reviews and keep more at the end of the month. That's the only comparison that counts.

Is the grading clear?
A serious supplier tells you upfront which grade you're buying: Grade A is wearable with no significant flaws, Grade B/C shows wear or damage. Without grading you don't know whether you can list straight away or need to repair first.
Red flag: just "good quality" with no explanationDo you know which brands you're getting?
"Branded clothing" tells you nothing. You want to know whether you're getting Nike, Adidas, Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger, or unknown labels that barely move on Vinted. The brand name is a large part of your selling price.

With an unopened bale you buy by weight and sort it yourself — including the items that never sell. With a hand-picked box that selection is already done on brand, condition and sellability. For starters that difference is huge.

Every day your box is in transit, your shop stands still. Shipping from the Netherlands or Belgium is usually 1–2 working days; lots from further away can take weeks. Ask for processing time and delivery time — those are two different things.
Red flag: no concrete delivery time or trackingAre there hidden costs?
Always calculate the final price: product plus shipping plus any customs or import charges. A cheap lot from outside the EU can end up considerably more expensive on arrival. Within the EU that isn't an issue.

Wholesale is usually final sale — that's normal. But a reliable supplier will still work with you if something genuinely goes wrong. Find out how that's handled before you order, not after.
Red flag: no contact details or business addressCan the supplier grow with you?
You start small, but if it works you'll want to scale. Can the same supplier deliver 20 or 30 pieces in three months, at the same quality? Constantly switching suppliers means constantly testing from scratch.

Ask these questions before you order
Three messages cost you five minutes and sometimes save you an entire failed order.
"Which grade and which brands?"
Ask for a concrete answer plus sample photos of a previous box. A supplier who knows their own stock answers this within minutes.
"When will it reach me?"
Processing time plus shipping time, in working days. If there's no clear answer, you already know how the rest of your order will go.
"Can I test small first?"
A good supplier is happy for you to start with a small box before scaling. Anyone pushing you straight into a large lot is selling volume, not a partnership.
